The Grill at Harryman House

The restaurant is an old house with separate bar and eating areas and has a very cozy atmosphere inside. The staff from the hostess to waitress were very inviting and polite. Our food was great from appetizer to dessert. We will definitely be back! We also liked that they had a coat check as well. Definitely one of the top restaurants in the area.

We were a party of four and were greeted warmly and taken to a table in the Bar area. After a few minutes the waiter arrived to get our drink order. (Our bill came out to $85 before tip.) It was easy to tell that either our waiter was new or just lacked training of the menu. He was not able to identify what came with the meal. (Which is important when you have food allergies.) Or know that they didn’t serve Apple Juice. Regarding our meals, we all enjoyed what we ordered. Waffle batter was good, the Burger was well seasoned, Hollandaise sauce was tasty etc. The French Fries were a hit at the table. One thing to note is that they don’t do substitutions. Ie They won’t substitute fried chicken for grilled chicken. Also, it is an upscale menu type of place. Don’t get me wrong the food was tasty but if you like simple breakfast foods, you won’t find it here. (No customize your own omelette for example.). If you’re a foodie, you will like the options on the menu. Biggest disappointment was the waiter never checked up on us until after we were finished with our meals and his menu knowledge. (Place could use a good dusting as well.) All in all, we would go back again to try a dinner service. The online menu looks appealing and from the taste of our brunch meals, it promises not to disappoint. Will update after we try the dinner service on a date night.
